Miami continues to win and continues to climb the rankings.
The Miami Hurricanes volleyball team moved up to No. 14 in the latest AVCA Rankings this week, a four-spot jump attributed to beating the at-the-time No. 4 Pittsburgh Panthers. Pittsburgh fell two spots to No. 6 after the loss.
Miami could have moved up even higher after the big win Friday, but the ‘Canes suffered their first loss in 16 games to now-No. 8 SMU on Sunday, a day before the new rankings released Monday afternoon. Still, the signature win of the season over Pitt puts Miami on the map of national contenders.
Miami hits the road this week to face off against the two west coast teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Hurricanes take on Cal Thursday before visiting Stanford Sunday afternoon. Miami then returns home October 24 to host Virginia Tech.
