Miami drops a spot despite a blowout win this weekend
The Miami football team went down one spot in Sunday’s AP Poll, falling to No. 10 despite a 42-7 dominant win over the Stanford Cardinal.
The drop doesn’t really say much of anything about Miami’s abilities, it’s more a result of Vanderbilt’s win over Missouri. The win gave the Commodores the edge over the Hurricanes and the No. 9 ranking.
The ‘Canes technically sit at tied for 10th in the country with BYU, who got the same amount of points from the media voting this week. Other ACC rankings include No. 8 Georgia Tech, No. 15 Virginia, and No. 16 Louisville. Those three teams all won this weekend, with Louisville jumping up three spots after losses from Oklahoma and Missouri.
Miami travels to SMU to face the Mustangs in Dallas next weekend, a team the media ranked No. 16 in the preseason. SMU will enter the matchup off a heartbreaking 13-12 loss to Wake Forest this weekend.
