CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami women’s basketball steamrolled Georgia State, 99-46 on Sunday afternoon at Watsco Center, a wire-to-wire rout that reset the Hurricanes after their midweek stumble against Kentucky. The win pushed Miami to 6-3 and delivered a new season-high in points along with the Canes’ biggest margin of victory so far this year.
Georgia State, which gave up 103 points at FIU on Friday, never recovered from a blistering Miami start and finished its two-game South Florida swing with a combined 202 points allowed.
Ra Shaya Kyle anchored everything in the paint. The veteran post racked up 16 points and 17 rebounds on 8-of-12 shooting, bullying the Panthers on the glass. Freshman Vittoria Blasigh caught fire from outside, drilling 6-of-9 from three and finishing with a game-high 18 points off the bench.
Miami’s backcourt controlled the tempo from the opening tip. Gal Raviv posted 10 points and nine assists, constantly probing and spraying the ball to shooters. Ahnay Adams added eight points and six assists, and Amarachi Kimpson chipped in 13 points with two triples, The Hurricanes finished with three different guards who consistently created advantages.
The Hurricanes seized control immediately. Miami raced out to a 27-12 lead after one quarter, then stacked a 19-8 second frame on top of it for a 46-20 cushion at halftime. Georgia State struggled to set up offense and managed just four offensive rebounds all afternoon. Miami kept the pedal down with a 34-13 third quarter that turned the game into a clinic and pushed the lead to 80-33 before reserves closed it out.
On the stat sheet, the dominance jumped off the page. Miami shot 52 percent from the field and 14-of-25 from three-point range while holding Georgia State to 29 percent overall. The Hurricanes overwhelmed the Panthers on the glass with a 58-15 rebounding edge, including 19 offensive boards. 11 Miami players scored, and the bench contributed 45 points, highlighted by Soma Okolo’s nine points, seven rebounds and five blocks.
The performance checked every box for the Hurricanes. Miami protected home court again, moved to 4-1 at Watsco Center and answered any lingering questions after the Kentucky loss with a blowout that never felt in doubt. The Hurricanes now shift focus to ACC play, with NC State coming to Coral Gables next Sunday.
