Miami Offers 2027 WR Keyon Standifer

Miami stayed active on the 2027 board with a scholarship offer to Athens Academy (Ga.) playmaker Keyon Standifer. Standifer shared the news on social media:

Standifer reopened his recruitment Dec. 5 when he decommitted from Georgia Tech, and the offer wave followed fast. Michigan jumped in and Miami joined that surge, giving the Hurricanes a chance to build real traction before the cycle crowds up with visits.

Standifer already knows how quickly recruiting can turn. Georgia Tech offered him June, then secured a commitment in September. Once his junior film stacked up, national programs circled. Alabama and LSU offered in November, and other Power 4 brands kept calling.

On the field, Standifer brings a “get-open” skill set that translates. 247Sports lists him at 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds and grades him at three stars with an 85 rating. He plays wideout and defensive back for Athens Academy, and that two-way background shows up in his ball tracking.

He recorded 46 catches for 1,222 yards and 19 touchdowns during the 2024 season, plus five interceptions on defense. He also added a punt-return touchdown and a kick-return touchdown across his first two varsity seasons, giving a special teams upside for whatever college program lands him.

Standifer also talks like a receiver who understands role flexibility. He can work in the slot or outside and win with quick releases against press coverage. A receiver who separates early and threatens the middle of the field can help an offense stay on schedule, especially against ACC defenses that live in split safety looks.

What comes next will look familiar to anyone who follows Canes recruiting. Miami needs a campus visit, a clear position plan and consistent contact through the dead periods and evaluation windows. Athens sits close enough to Atlanta for the staff to keep eyes on him without burning resources, and a strong spring visit could set up an official trip later.
