Miami announced its complete 2026-27 women’s basketball nonconference schedule Friday, revealing 10 home games, two neutral-site events and one date conflict that still requires clarification.
The Hurricanes’ new schedule places the neutral-site game against USC in Phoenix on Dec. 17. Miami’s earlier showcase announcement placed the same matchup on Dec. 16, matching the date distributed by the event organizer. No public correction accompanied Friday’s change.
Miami listed the Dec. 17 date in its full nonconference schedule release. One week earlier, the program said the Hurricanes and Trojans would play Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 9:30 p.m. Eastern. TV News Check’s report on the Scripps Sports event also identifies Dec. 16 as the showcase date.
The conflict does not erase the matchup, but fans making travel plans should wait for Miami or the organizer to confirm the final date and tip time. The rest of the release supplies the first complete view of coach Tricia Cullop’s pre-ACC path.
Miami opens Nov. 2 against Florida Atlantic at the Watsco Center. Jacksonville visits Nov. 5, followed by Stetson on Nov. 8, Saint Peter’s on Nov. 12, Le Moyne on Nov. 16 and FIU on Nov. 19. The sequence creates six consecutive home games to begin the season.
The Hurricanes then travel to Nassau for the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship. They will face Michigan on Nov. 23 and an opponent still to be announced on Nov. 25. Miami returns home against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 29.
The first true road game arrives Dec. 2 at Florida in the SEC/ACC Challenge. Miami hosts Stony Brook on Dec. 6 before the Phoenix trip. Morgan State visits Dec. 20, and Bethune-Cookman closes the nonconference schedule Dec. 28.
The opening homestand gives a rebuilt roster time to establish roles without travel. The Bahamas event changes the environment and raises the opposition, while Florida supplies an in-state road test before the USC game offers a national-stage opponent.
Friday’s release also makes the schedule’s spacing visible. Miami has recovery and practice time between most December games, but the exact Phoenix date affects the turnaround before Morgan State. A Dec. 17 game leaves two full calendar days before the Dec. 20 home date; Dec. 16 would leave three.
Miami now has a complete nonconference opponent list and almost every date resolved. The one unresolved detail is attached to its most prominent matchup. Until the program or showcase issues a correction, Dec. 16 and Dec. 17 remain competing official dates for Miami-USC.
The sequence also lets Cullop escalate the difficulty in stages. Six home games can establish the rotation before Michigan tests Miami at a neutral site. Florida adds a hostile building, and USC supplies elite athleticism on a showcase platform. The schedule is not only a list of opponents; it gives the staff three distinct environments to evaluate a roster before conference play.
