Miami Could Go After Florida DB Transfer Sharif Denson

Florida defensive back Sharif Denson plans to enter the transfer portal, giving programs a plug-and-play option with experience and a résumé. Denson appeared in all 12 games this season and finished with 52 tackles. He underwent sports-hernia surgery after the season, worth monitoring for any interested teams.

Denson visited Miami during his high school recruitment but ended up going with the Gators over the Hurricanes. A few months later, Miami hosted him again for its game against Duke while he already had committed. ESPN’s recruiting profile also listed Miami among the schools on his list during that cycle, so we already know the Canes and Denson had mutual interest at the time.

Denson would walk into Miami as a veteran challenger at nickel and a depth enhancer at corner, especially in game plans that demand physical slot play against RPO looks and perimeter screens. His tackle totals at Florida signal comfort downhill, and his Star experience supplies a clean projection into Miami’s sub packages without forcing a full-position conversion. If medicals check out, Denson could compete for the top nickel snaps right away, then slide outside when the defense demands length and leverage on the boundary.
