Miami Athletes Set GPA Record With Fall Semester

Fans track wins, losses and portal chatter, but Miami’s student-athletes just dropped a number that deserves its own banner: a 3.40 department grade-point average for the Fall 2025 semester. The number marks the highest single-semester grades in program history.

Every one of Miami’s 18 programs cleared a 3.0 in the same semester for the first time. Miami also pushed its cumulative GPA to 3.37 and extended its run to 23 straight semesters with a cumulative GPA above 3.0.

Athletic director Dan Radakovich pointed straight at the people who keep the operation steady when schedules get loud. “Congratulations to our student-athletes on a record-setting semester in the classroom,” Radakovich said in a statement while crediting academic support staff and head coaches for keeping academics front and center.

  • Women’s swimming and diving led the entire department with a 3.69.
  • Soccer turned in a 3.55
  • Volleyball posted a 3.38
  • Cross country stacked results: women 3.63, men 3.40
  • Football logged a 3.19

Miami also got major contributions from sports that straddle seasons. Golf and rowing each hit 3.66, and men’s tennis led the men’s programs with a 3.56.

80 percent of Miami student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher, and 43 finished the semester with a perfect 4.0.

Miami’s teams already chase championships year-round. This fall, they chased A’s with the same edge.
