2028 wide receiver Mekhi Parker announced a Miami offer on his X account, giving the Hurricanes an early place in a recruitment that already looks bigger than a normal 2028 conversation.
The Glassboro, New Jersey, wide receiver is listed as a 6-foot-4.5, 205-pound prospect with a 90.66 Rivals Industry rating, according to his On3 profile. On3 also lists Parker as the No. 183 player in the country, No. 27 wide receiver and No. 7 player in New Jersey in the 2028 class.
The size is the first thing that explains Miami’s interest. Parker already has the frame of an outside receiver who can become a mismatch if the movement skills keep matching the body. Parker’s offer sheet already includes Miami, Alabama, Boston College, North Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wake Forest, among others.
New Jersey is not Miami’s backyard, yet the Hurricanes have enough national brand weight to chase traits wherever they appear. Parker gives them length, a developing national profile and enough positional flexibility for the staff to keep evaluating how his body and role evolve.
Miami wants to sell a passing game that can feature young skill talent, not just rotate it through. If the Hurricanes keep showing that receivers can produce early, a prospect like Parker has a cleaner reason to listen when the staff talks about fit.
The offer also gives Miami a chance to track how Parker develops before his recruitment becomes mostly about official visits and final cuts. The staff can watch whether the length turns into red-zone value, whether the releases keep improving and whether he stays at receiver or keeps some two-way flexibility.
