Miami placed 299 student-athletes on the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the 2025-26 academic year, one selection shy of the school record set last year.
Miami Athletics announced the total Friday, continuing a strong academic stretch across the department. The honor roll recognizes athletes who competed in a varsity sport and earned at least a 3.0 grade-point average for the full academic year.
The ACC recognized 7,496 student-athletes from its 18 member schools. The conference reached at least 5,500 selections for a seventh consecutive year.
Duke led the conference with 654 honorees, followed by Stanford with 620 and California with 602. Miami contributed two of the ACC’s 17 sixth-time selections. Swimmer Savannah Barr and football player Michael Donovan each received recognition for a sixth academic year after additional seasons of athletic eligibility extended their college careers.
Miami’s 299 selections followed a school-record 300 honorees in 2024-25 and 271 in 2023-24. Those three honor rolls produced 870 total selections and an average of 290 per year.
The latest result also strengthened a broader academic profile that Miami highlighted throughout the past year. A December report from Miami Athletics credited Hurricanes athletes with a department-record 3.40 GPA during the fall semester.
All 18 programs posted GPAs above 3.0, while the department’s cumulative GPA reached 3.37. Miami also extended its streak of semesters with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 to 23. Eighty percent of Hurricanes athletes earned a 3.0 or higher during the fall, and 43 recorded a 4.0.
Miami added another strong mark in May through the NCAA’s Academic Progress Rate report. UM scored 990 in the latest APR release, four points above the national average of 986. Nine Miami programs recorded perfect single-year scores of 1,000 for 2024-25.
The NCAA uses APR to measure eligibility and retention across a rolling four-year period. A score of 1,000 represents the maximum. Miami’s women’s cross-country, golf and tennis programs each carried multiyear scores of 1,000 in the latest report.
The ACC Academic Honor Roll covers athletes across every varsity sport, which gives Miami a department-wide measure rather than a snapshot of one team. Sport-specific All-ACC Academic teams apply additional participation and cumulative GPA requirements.
Miami fell one selection short of another school record, but the Hurricanes maintained the academic consistency that produced 870 honor-roll selections across the past three years.
