Miami has entered the recruitment of another promising 2029 wide receiver after extending an offer to Hough standout Mason Pearsall-Brown.
Pearsall-Brown announced the offer Wednesday, adding Miami to an expanding list of Power Four programs pursuing the North Carolina prospect.
The sophomore gives Miami another long, athletic receiver target in a class still years away from signing day.
Hough lists Pearsall-Brown at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds on its current roster, while the receiver lists himself at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds with an 80-inch wingspan.
That frame immediately grabs attention.
Pearsall-Brown gained varsity experience as a freshman during the 2025 season and caught passes in several games while playing behind Hough’s older receivers. Prep Redzone identified him among the emerging skill-position prospects in North Carolina’s 2029 class following that freshman campaign.
His recruitment has accelerated since then.
South Carolina recently offered after its staff evaluated Pearsall-Brown at camp. Connecticut also extended an offer earlier this year, and his personal profile currently lists double-digit Division I opportunities.
Miami now joins that group.
The Hurricanes’ pursuit carries an obvious connection to the program’s receiver recruiting efforts. Wide receivers coach Kevin Beard appeared among the Miami staff members Pearsall-Brown thanked while announcing the offer.
Pearsall-Brown’s basketball background adds another interesting component. He competes as a guard alongside football, giving him additional experience with body control, spatial awareness and contested-ball situations.
Miami has plenty of time to evaluate how those traits develop.
A 2029 prospect still faces several years of physical growth, position development and changes across the recruiting landscape. Rankings will move, offer lists will expand and coaching staffs across the country will continue sorting through an unusually young group.
Miami still benefits from entering early.
Pearsall-Brown already possesses the type of length that college programs covet outside. Continued development as a route runner and his ability to translate his frame into consistent production should shape his eventual ceiling.
Hough also provides a strong environment for that growth. The North Carolina program regularly features college-level prospects, giving Pearsall-Brown competition and exposure throughout his high school career.
Miami now has its foot in the door.
With several seasons remaining before the 2029 class reaches signing day, building the relationship comes next.
