Miami’s latest recruiting move reaches deep into the future.
The Hurricanes have extended a scholarship offer to Marshay McKinley, a 2030 recruit from Chillicothe High School in Ohio.
McKinley’s profile lists him at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds with an athlete/wide receiver/defensive back designation. He previously held an offer from Miami (Ohio), making the Hurricanes’ offer another early marker in his recruitment.
At the FAC JH Championships on May 4 in Greenfield, Ohio, McKinley won the boys middle school 100 meters at 11.74 seconds and the 200 meters in 23.73 seconds. The times stand out at his age.
Miami has leaned on speed, length and versatility across multiple classes, and McKinley checks early boxes in each area. A player who can run, play receiver, cover in the secondary and grow into a bigger frame gives him multiple paths to success.
Recruiting starts with relationships, and Miami just made sure McKinley knows the Hurricanes see him as a future Power Four-level talent.
