Miami made an early move in South Florida by offering 2029 Santaluces Community wide receiver Brett Boston.
247Sports lists Boston as a 5-foot-10, 165-pound wide receiver from Lake Worth. He plays in Palm Beach County, fits the profile of an explosive young skill player and already has varsity production before most prospects in his class have national rankings. MaxPreps credits Boston with 30 receptions for 620 yards and five touchdowns, with a strong 20.7 yards per catch.
Miami should always track South Florida receivers who can create chunk plays, especially this early. Boston has not reached the stage where rankings define his recruitment, but his offer sheet already shows that college staffs see the potential. 247Sports lists 10 offers, including Miami, Florida State, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Purdue.
Miami cannot offer every South Florida receiver and expect that alone to carry weight, but the Hurricanes should own early evaluations in their backyard. Boston gives them a player close enough to visit campus, attend games and develop a connection with the staff over multiple seasons.
The Hurricanes need speed, separation and yards-after-catch ability in every cycle. Boston’s early production suggests he can stretch defenses and turn routine touches into explosive plays. He still has a long way to go in his recruitment. Rankings will change, his body will develop and his offer list could look much different by the time the 2029 cycle heats up. Miami still made the right move. The Hurricanes saw a young South Florida playmaker, trusted the early film and put their name in the race.
