Four-star 2028 wide receiver Dedrick Kimbrough plans to visit Miami twice during the 2026 season, giving the Hurricanes two game-day opportunities with one of Alabama’s top young prospects.
247Sports reported that Kimbrough will attend Miami’s Sept. 26 game against Central Michigan and return for the Oct. 17 rivalry matchup with Florida State.
Kimbrough plays for Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama. His 247Sports profile lists him at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds and gives him a four-star rating.
As of Monday afternoon, 247Sports ranked Kimbrough No. 228 nationally, No. 31 among wide receivers and No. 10 in Alabama. The 247Sports Composite placed him No. 196 overall, No. 29 among receivers and No. 10 in the state.
Those rankings can change as evaluators collect junior-season film, camp results and verified testing numbers. Kimbrough already carries two years of varsity production into his junior season.
Kimbrough recorded 43 catches for 686 yards and five touchdowns in 2025. He averaged 16 yards per reception and helped Thompson finish 11-3 overall and 6-1 in region play.
Kimbrough caught 22 passes for 390 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman. Through two varsity seasons, he has totaled 65 receptions, 1,076 yards and eight touchdowns.
Miami has offered Kimbrough, and 247Sports lists 30 offers in his recruitment. His fall travel schedule includes trips to USC, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Florida, Notre Dame and Florida State along with the two Miami visits.
The first Miami trip should give Kimbrough a broad look at the program. Central Michigan visits Hard Rock Stadium during Family Weekend and Miami’s celebration of the 1991 national championship team. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on The CW.
The second visit should offer a more intense setting. Miami designated the Florida State game as an Orange Out and plans a stadium-wide rally-towel giveaway. The rivalry matchup should also draw a large group of recruits.
Two visits give Miami’s staff more time to build a relationship with Kimbrough and his family. Coaches can use the September trip to establish comfort with the campus and program, then reinforce their pitch three weeks later against Florida State.
Kimbrough has not announced a commitment date. His extensive visit schedule points toward a wide-open recruitment, with programs from several major conferences pursuing him.
The 2028 cycle still carries plenty of time, but repeated campus exposure can shape an early recruitment. Miami now holds two chances to show Kimbrough its offense, game-day atmosphere and long-term plan for his development.
