Miami now knows the framework of its 2027 ACC schedule, and the league handed the Hurricanes a road-heavy conference slate.
The ACC announced conference opponents for all 17 programs Wednesday as the league continues its move toward a nine-game scheduling model. Miami will host California, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Virginia while traveling to Duke, Florida State, NC State, Pitt and Virginia Tech. Game dates will come later.
That setup gives Miami four ACC home games and five conference road games. The Hurricanes will also face several programs that regularly create difficult environments, including Florida State in Tallahassee, Virginia Tech in Blacksburg and Pitt in Pittsburgh.
The Florida State matchup immediately draws the most attention. Miami and Florida State remain the league’s most recognizable rivalry pairing, and the 2027 meeting will shift back to Doak Campbell Stadium after the Seminoles visit Hard Rock Stadium in 2026. The Hurricanes will also travel to NC State and Duke, adding two more trips into North Carolina.
Miami’s home slate carries its own intrigue. California will make the cross-country trip to South Florida, continuing a series created by ACC expansion. Georgia Tech returns to Miami after the Yellow Jackets and Hurricanes developed several close, strange games across recent seasons. Louisville also visits Hard Rock Stadium, while Virginia rounds out the four home conference opponents.
The larger scheduling change matters just as much as the individual matchups.
Sixteen ACC programs will play nine league games in 2027. Clemson will play eight conference games and at least two Power Four nonconference opponents under a rotating designation. The league says every program will play at least 10 games against Power Four opponents. Here is the ACC’s full scheduling announcement.
That structure adds another conference game for most of the league and leaves less room for flexible nonconference scheduling.
Miami already faces the annual challenge of balancing ACC play with major nonconference games. A nine-game league schedule increases the importance of rotation, home-road balance and where rivalry games land within the calendar.
The 2027 opponent list also removes several current ACC programs from Miami’s regular-season path. Clemson, North Carolina, Stanford, SMU, Syracuse, Boston College and Wake Forest do not appear on the Hurricanes’ conference slate.
The ACC will announce dates and television details later, so Miami still lacks the exact sequence that often determines how difficult a schedule feels.
Still, the basic shape has arrived.
Miami will play nine ACC games, make five conference road trips and visit Florida State in the centerpiece matchup. The Hurricanes also get four varied home opponents, including Louisville and Georgia Tech.
The calendar remains unfinished, but the road map now looks clear.
